packaging primer 101

proper packaging prevents piss poor performance.

at least thats what i tell myself.

so here’s some secret sauce thoughts behind my packaging.

but i’m always open to feedback!

“why do you go so hard on packaging? people are just gonna throw it away”

first impressions count.

you get one chance to make a good impression and this is it!

show people how much you care and value them.

especially in a business like this, you have to make it count. people have spent their hard earned money and i have little track record for them to judge.

so reward them for taking a risk on me!

customers deserve it.

maybe i’m too new to the game, but fuck me customers legit deserve better than a shirt shoved in a brown box when ordering.

upping your package games costs a little extra both in time and money yes, but i’m not competing with fast fashion here.

i am competing with the best.

i need people to rave about their orders.

so effort into packaging is a must.

because I care.

i legit live and breathe what im doing here with OKKA.

so i’m valuemaxxing because this is a reflection of me.

why add freebies to my orders?

much to my chief financial officers (mum’s) chagrin, freebies are a large part of OKKA.

i’m always thinking about what i can add to orders to surprise and excite customers.

when the freebies start flowing, mum starts teeing off (luv u)

what’s something that can be useful for both the fren purchasing and OKKA? how can we both win?

whether it’s stickers, a lanyard, car freshener, or some simple golf tees. there’s always something extra. here’s why:

it’s fun.

i love adding a little surprise. i like to please, and i believe people enjoy that little something extra. could be stickers, golf tees, or maybe a keychain.

i want to try more thematic drops with some thematic freebies hehe

it builds goodwill.

i’m still early doors into building my golf brand, i need to overdeliver. so i always try to add to the experience and do things that will get people talking positively about OKKA.

who hates free stuff?

it’s my preferred marketing option.

personally, i’d rather spend a few bucks on giving someone some stickers and a keychain than pay money for ads lining the pockets of someone who don’t need it.

happy to hear why I might be wrong but I think it’s an infinitely better use of my money than trying ads on people who have no idea who OKKA is. gotta look after those who matter!

so yeah, long live freebies!

lastly, why write thank you notes?

people take the piss about my poor handwriting on my thank you notes in the orders they receive. (rightfully so, my handwriting is atrocious)

but i wouldn’t have it any other way. here’s why i write them:

doing things that don’t scale

with the rise of so many faceless drop shipping ecom brands, i’ve gone the complete opposite. put myself out there, trust the process, and assume people enjoy that personal touch when spending their hard earned money.

there’s a person behind all this and i want people to know!

saying thanks

and more than anything when i write a thank you letter, i mean it. i’m genuinely beyond grateful and will never take this for granted. writing notes can sometimes be tedious and time consuming, but do things that don’t scale!

so in the spirit of things,

thanks!
